It followed the adventures of a lovable Scottish granny with superpowers. It featured guest stars such as footballer George Best and comedians Spike Milligan and Sir Billy Connolly, who sang the theme tune.Other achievements…Gudrun once played Desdemona on stage with Orson Welles in Othello in 1951. She appeared in films such as Doctor in the House (1954) and Trouble in the Glen (1955) and had parts in Casualty and Midsomer Murders.Family life…Gudrun died, aged 98, at her London home on 14 May.
