SALARY: $20.36 per hour.
Seasonal/Temporary: May 2024 - September 2024.
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Springs - Department of Public Safety.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualification(s) must be met and clearly detailed on the City of Saratoga Springs employment application form by the last filing date:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma OR
One year of full time paid clerical experience.
Special Requirements
Possession of a current and valid NYS drivers license at time of application.
Willingness to work out of doors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions.
Shifts may include evenings and weekends.
BACKGROUND CHECK: To be eligible for appointment, each candidate will be subject to a thorough background investigation. Applicants may be required to authorize access to educational, financial, employment, criminal history, mental health records or other records. Conviction of a felony will bar appointment. Conviction of a misdemeanor or other offenses is subject to evaluation and may bar appointment. At the discretion of the appointing authority candidates may submit to additional screening as a term and condition of employment, including but not limited to fingerprinting and polygraph testing. The applicant will be restricted for interview/appointment if the required background packet is not submitted within the allotted time frame.DUTIES: This position exists in the City Public Safety Department and involves responsibility to make routine foot and motorized patrols for enforcing parking regulations and issuing tickets for violations in accordance with City ordinances. The work is performed under general supervision received from a ranking Police Officer in the Police Department. Since this position involves extensive out of doors activities, an incumbent is exposed to varying weather conditions. Supervision over the work of others is NOT a responsibility of employees in this class. The incumbent does related work as required.
